From 1944 to today

Apr 1944 RW Provincial Grand Master, Lt. Col HA Mann, OBE, MC attended the Jubilee Anniversary of the Lodge

The death of W. Bro. Arthur Grace, last of the Founders of the Lodge, was reported

Bro. James Edgley was Installed as the 50th Master of the Lodge

Proposals for five memberships were received

W. Bro. Leonard Moon, Secretary, read a brief history and commentary of the first 50 years of Noel Money Lodge No. 2521

A total of 80 brethren and Visitors attended the meeting

Aug 1945 A Vote of Thanks was made to W. Bro. Arthur Standage who had held office in the Lodge including Secretary and Treasurer for 36 years. W. Bro. Standage had been Worshipful Master in 1913

Feb 1946 The Secretary informed the meeting that he had nine proposals for membership in hand and that any further candidates would have to wait a very long time

Jan 1947 Bro. Richard Lowne, Initiated in July 1943 was Passed – the delay resulting from War Service with the Royal Navy. He was Installed as Worshipful Master in 1956/57 and again in 1984/85

Mar 1947 It was reported that 39 members had served in the War overseas and at home; no casualties were suffered by any member of the Lodge

Oct 1947 W. Bro. Archibald Ramage was elevated to the rank of PGStB. The Abbey Lodge, the Lodge of Progress and Noel Money Lodge presented him with his regalia. He was the first Lodge member to be elevated to Grand Lodge rank

William Lewis in recognition of his devotion and duty in carrying out the duties of Worshipful Master for three consecutive years in consequence of the deaths of two succeeding Masters who passed away soon after their Installation in 1940 and 1941’

Feb 1952 The Lodge stood to Order in memory of MW Bro. His Late Majesty, King George V1. The first verse of God Save the Queen was sung for the first time

Mar 1957 Reported that W. Bro. Roy Edmonds was to be Invested by the MW Grand Master as Grand Standard Bearer

Oct 1957 The Charity Column was circulated for the first time in Open Lodge and realised £6-11-6d (£6.57)

1993 During the year the death was reported of W. Bro. Norman Clarke, PPJGW, Worshipful Master 1965/66, and Secretary for 15 years; Chaplain for 1989/92

1994 In the year of our Centenary, the deaths were reported of RW Bro. Rev. FGWW Heydon, AKC, PSGW, PAPGM an Honorary Member of the Lodge and W. Bro. David Cawsey who had served the Lodge with distinction as Worshipful Master in 1976/77 and 1987/88 in addition to various other offices in the Lodge.

At the time of his death W. Bro. Cawsey was Director of Ceremonies and a tireless Preceptor of the Lodge of Instruction

Nov 2000 Raghbir Gahir Initiated

Nov 2000 Letter received from the Secretary of Admiral Lodge No. 170 of Free and Accepted Masons, British Columbia and Yukon - a grand-daughter of the Late W. Bro. Charles Sillence, Worshipful Master 1908 who had emigrated from England, had handed them a copy of the Installation Banquet programme of October 13th 1908.

It is held safely in a display cabinet at the entrance of their Lodge Room on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

Mar 2001 The death was reported of W. Bro. RHF ‘Dickie’ Lowne, Worshipful Master 1956/57 and 1984/85. Throughout his life he worked selflessly and tirelessly in helping others, particularly through his Masonic and Scouting activities

He made an immense contribution in over 58 year’s service as a member of the Lodge in a number of capacities, notably Secretary and Almoner

He was President and Senior Preceptor of the Lodge of Instruction which he supported tirelessly over many years with great enthusiasm

Jun 2001 The death was reported of W. Bro. LAC ‘Les’ Barnard, Worshipful Master 1972/73. At the time of his death he was one of the longest serving members of the Lodge at over 38 years. He served as an enthusiastic supporter of the Lodge of Instruction and was Chaplain for 9 years until his death

Nov 2001 Gordon Putley becomes a Joining Member

Nov 2001 Ian Vousden Initiated – a ‘Lewis’ being the eldest son of W. Bro. Peter Vousden

Feb 2002 The death was reported of W. Bro. WL ‘Les’ Dewdney aged 91 years, Worshipful Master 1961/62, a member of the Lodge since 1945 and latterly an Honorary Member. He had served the Lodge with distinction including as a tireless supporter of the Lodge of Instruction where for many years he was President and Preceptor

Oct 2002 W. Bro. Spencer Wheeler Installed as 109th Worshipful Master of the Noel Money Lodge No. 2521 – Worshipful Master for the second time

Nov 2004 Rededication of the newly refurbished Lodge Banner by the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. Lt. Col. DAM Phipps, M.B.E who was made an Honorary Member of the Lodge

Oct 2005 W. Bro. Brian Davies Installed as 111th Worshipful Master of the Noel Money Lodge No. 2521

Apr 2006 The Lodge is honoured to act as Sponsor of the Provincial St. Georges Day event at Surbiton when over £3500 is raised for the 2008 Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys and the Surrey Masonic Widows Association.

Apr 2007 The death was reported of W. Bro. AS ('Spencer') Wheeler, PPSGD, PPGReg (Hants and IoW) who served the Lodge with distinction as Worshipful Master in 1991, again in 2002 and latterly as Chaplain.

Jun 2007 W. Bro. John Lambert, PProvAGDC is honoured by the appointment to Active Provincial rank as Provincial Senior Grand Warden and joins one of the Provincial teams of Visiting Officers.

Oct 2007 W. Bro. John Lambert, ProvSGW Installed for the second time and as 113th Worshipful Master of the Noel Money Lodge No. 2521.

Oct 2007 W. Bro. Keith Brown, PPGStB and Bro. Nick Pandya both become Joining Members of the Lodge

Nov 2007 Bro. Naresh Eyani Initiated into Freemasonry and becomes a member of the Lodge

Feb 2008 The Lodge is honoured to receive a Silver Award Alms Purse in recognition of donations to the 2008 Festival in aid of the RMTGB totalling £14,500

June 2008 At the Surrey Provincial AGM held at Freemasons' Hall on 25th June 2008, the Lodge is honoured by the presentation of a Gold Award Alms Pouch in recognition of donations to the 2008 Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys totalling £26,296

Oct 2009 W. Bro. Peter Chase, LGR, PPSGD (Middx) Installed as 115th Worshipful Master of the Noel Money Lodge No. 2521.

Nov 2009 The Lodge is honoured to host and sponsor the Prestonian Lecture for 2009, 'Go and do thou likewise; English Masonic processions from the 18th to the 20th Centuries' delivered by the 2009 Prestonian Lecturer, W. Bro. Dr. John Wade, PProvJGW.

Mar 2010 The Lodge is honoured to report that W. Bro. John Lambert, PProvSGW is appointed to Past Grand Standard Bearer at Great Queen St in April - the first Grand Officer the Lodge has had in its ranks in over 50 years (the last being W. Bro. Roy Edmonds, Grand Standard Bearer in 1957)

Oct 2010 W. Bro. Andrew Burrell, Installed as 116th Worshipful Master of the Noel Money Lodge No. 2521.

Today the Lodge has 32 members including proudly, a distinguished Honorary Member and whilst it retains many of the important traditions of the past, it faces the challenges of today and of the future with confidence.
